Going on third week since it happen. Have no problem lifting trainning. But it feels like I'm fighting with one arm. Any suggestion on how to get that strength back in that arm.Any key movements, supplements ect.Sucks, I had a BJJ tournament coming up and I had to drop out cuz I'm not feeling any power in it .

Arm Bar injury

When ever you lose strengh in your arm in can either be from a cervical nerve injury or tissue injury to the shoulder, elbow, arm etc. If you were injured in an arm bar that would most likely rule out neck involvement. I would concentrate on a local injury to the joint, ligaments, tendons and/or muscles. Now we have to figure out what structures are effected and to what extent. The fact that it has lasted three weeks with weakness indicates some tissue damage to a muscle/tendon or ligament. Ice is helpful in the beginning, but you need to get a evaluation to look at the joint and soft tissue. If there is no real tearing you can get manual therapy and some modalities like muscle stim, ultrasound or cold laser. You can see a sports chiropractor or orthopedist for evaluation. Let me know your area and I will find you someone. Also you can take some supplements to help reduce damage and inflammation. Get yourself some proteolytic enzymes, like bromelian, papain, trypsin, etc. We use a product called Zymain from Anabolic Labs, Also take about 2-2.5 grams of Omega 3 fish oils for inflammmation and some good antioxidents to help reduce free radicals. Hope this helps. Feel Free to contact me or go to my site at www.haleyhealth.com
