DUE TO HURRICANE SANDY --- The Asbury Park Mayors Office and Police Department contacted me today to inform us that the Asbury Park Convention Hall will be closed on Sunday, October 28th to prepare for the impending storm on Sunday and Monday.

To protect those traveling, Asbury Park has asked us to CONSOLIDATE our two-day event into ONE-DAY, Just Saturday, October 27th. The hurricane is expected to make landfall on Sunday or early Monday and we want to make sure everyone is safe.

SATURDAY is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL Day, so please spread the word and come out for a FUN event to raise money for Autism Awareness.

Please help us give HOPE to a Child with Autism!

Autism affects 1 in 88 children in America. It’s a brain disorder that can affect communication, social interaction, and or creative play. Some of these amazing children with Autism can’t look you in the eye, might jump up at the super market or have uncontrollable emotional meltdowns daily (or hourly), some might make strange noises but SADLY many cannot speak…But they are all amazing children!

It’s beyond an epidemic…especially in New Jersey where numbers reported are as high as 1 in 55 diagnosed in our home state. There is no known cause or insurance backed treatments and these families and children are suffering. The estimated Lifetime cost to properly care for a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is $3.2 Million Dollars including an average of $6,000 per year more of medical bills.

Autism Radio, a 501c non profit charitable organization helps organize community events that families together challenged with Autism in a fun and safe environment to grow, learn and heal together. They also help pay for educational services and special programs like, “iPads for Autism”, a local community educational speech development program, Therapeutic Riding Lessons and even Life and Business Coaching (http://CoachingForAutism.org) for families challenged emotionally and financially looking for a trusting, understanding and “wounded warrior” guide who’s “walked the walk” to take them to the next level of happiness and success in their life.

• ASDs are reported to occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic
groups. We are all UNITED as one in this battle against Autism.

• ASDs are almost 5 times more common among boys (1 in 54 boys are diagnosed with Autism) than among girls (1 in 252)
