My Canada Grappling Story: In the summer of 1998, Gene Lebell featured submission grappling divisions in the first ever International Grappling Tournament in the World in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, it was called The Grappling Challenge. I competed alongside Harout Teryzan (Gokor prodigy), Pride's Gary Goodrich, Kenny Kronenberg and even UFC's Karo "The Heat" Parysian and many other future MMA and Grappling standouts. That tournament inspired me to create Grapplers Quest and the rest is grappling history ...it's time to come back to where the dream began, back to CANADA!
