BIGGEST mistake ADCC trials champions make?

Do you know what's the BIGGEST mistake ADCC trials champions make? Its when they get afraid to challenge themselves in other events concerned about losing some prestige from the trials they won.
That's just silly thinking. You won a MAJOR grappling event (2010 Abu Dhabi Combat Club North American trials champions) and the golden ticket to fight in the 2011 ADCC World Championships. Seize the time and opportunity, try out new strategies, work on weaknesses, heart rate before and during matches (in between matches), implementing "Eddie Bravo-style" code-like position and submission names, new coaching styles or drop a weight class and/or get in the best shape of your life. Mental and ego layoffs will ultimately get you rusty before the big show a year from now. For your personal growth as a competitor or fighter and for the sport we all love to achieve it's legacy, keep challenging yourselves, "win or lose, you game will improve!"
I'm asking all champions to dig deep into their inner grappling samurai and challenge themselves, the grappling community and martial arts history will thank you. I will reward you handsomely, the best I can, but we need more sponsors. You support many brands in the sport, but very few support the cash prizes Grapplers Quest awards. Please ask the brands that market to YOU, the athletes, to sponsor your competitor fees in exchange for wearing their shorts in a Pro Division. We have competitors making $5,000 in sponsorships per event, it's possible!!!
In any two year period we give away twice the amount of cash prizes compared to ADCC or any other pro league. I will treat you well, honor and build your career and help pass you become a grappling legend. Believe in me, I believe in you and our sport, let's do this together!
