I first met Josh Barnett at the Pan American Games in 2005. He is a confident, well spoken and knowledgeable fighter and instructor, but it was great to meet someone who had achieved so much at a young age, defeating Randy Couture to capture the title. Sadly, it was stripped for his alleged steroid usage, but everyone knows Barnett is the top contender for the Heavyweight title of any MMA organization, worldwide. I hope he signs with the UFC in 2010.

On Saturday, December 12th, Grapplers Quest hosted the 1st World Series of Grappling featuring 60 of the World's Best Submission Fighters. The Men's Featherweight Division was stacked with talent, but a match many wanted to see happen, Wilson Reis (Lloyd Irvin/BJJ United) vs. Ryan Hall (50/50 BJJ) occurred for 3rd Place, but easily could have been the final on another day. This was one of the best matches of the day and really showed how exciting, dynamic and heart pounding grappling can be. Enjoy!

Last Monday i was cleared by my orthopedic to get back to full time training, my back is as good as its going to get for now! I am doing active release therapy (ART) weekly and keeping up with my sports massages and its really been awesome for my back. I'm really excited to get back in the gym full time, 7 weeks off was the worst. I have some exciting new training coming up, will keep everyone updated on that. I'll be ready to fight as early as march. I will let everyone know once the UFC has another opponant for me! I cant wait.
